Data privacy is a very important topic for EGYM and for our customers. We design our systems to comply with the highest standards and all regulations - primarily with the European GDPR in mind, which is setting the benchmark in terms of good privacy practices.
Fundamentally, our data privacy model divides data into two separate buckets:
- “Gym Data” is data that EGYM processes on behalf of the gym. This usually includes all the data points that an MMS transfers to EGYM, as well as data that is entered by trainers into the EGYM trainer app: members’ names, birthdays, contract information, etc.
- “Workout Data” is data that EGYM manages on behalf of the user themselves. This includes workout tracking results, health data, training plans, etc.

Following this logic allows the Gym to work with the MMS data without any additional per-user consent, while members have the full choice with whom they want to share or not share their personal, health and workout data.
